"Derek has been our mortgage broker since January 2006 and has remained with us as not only our broker but our friend. Last April tragedy struck as our house burned down. Not knowing what to do we did everything through our insurance company. 3 months later we were still without our home and getting nowhere with the insurance.
After months of frustration we called Derek who told us that he was not aware or informed of our loss and told us to get to his office immediately. Upon our arrival Derek took over for us and for the next 6 months did all the required paperwork and each time the insurance rejected it and Derek would re-do it again for a total of 5 times. He acted on our behalf in everything from securing us a new mortgage, to working with our builder to negotiating with our mortgage company, and fighting our insurance company.
ResMor Trust was very helpful and understanding and they were very generous in eliminating our penalties and giving us a new mortgage with a much lower rate. As it was getting close to Christmas and we really did not have any money because we did not yet have any settlement from the insurance company, Derek saw to it that our whole family was well taken care of, especially our children and even my wife and I were looked after. He personally took on this Christmas undertaking and his two grandchildren bought our children gifts also. He even got ResMor involved.
Now Derek has once again taken on the insurance company. He has been doing this now for 6 months and we are finally hoping to see our insurance money for the much needed furniture and Derek also arranged for a local furniture dealer, Elgin New & Used Furniture, to discount us 30% and they have also worked with us closely.
Derek has gone way beyond what anyone would have done and he has done all this because he truly cares for people, especially those who are on hard times. Without all his help and at no charge to us at all we would not have our new home, and we would not have had a Merry Christmas.

As a single person who teaches, I spoke with my parents about buying my first home so of course they sent me to Derek.
As we were going through the process I was shocked to find out that someone else had used my name in the past and had managed to have their name on my credit bureau. There were some major discrepancies with my Social Insurance Number, date of birth and my address and not to mention that my credit cards were not showing as being reported.
